Both modalities are wonderful and supportive. Sometime energetic sessions have a longer-lasting effect than acupuncture. People who are averse to needles can receive an energetic session without anxiety. Choose whichever modality appeals to you.
If you don’t know which to choose, contact Star and ask for guidance. -
A session with Star happens remotely, meaning at a distance. She calls you at a designated time. You will talk and Star will listen and ask questions. This is both for gathering energetic information and part of the treatment. The CHEA model recognizes that speaking about stressors or traumas can be beneficial for bringing our fields back into balance. After some talking, Star will assess your energy fields then apply specific techniques to address the particular distortions. She can tell you as much as you want about the specifics of what she is actively working on, or she can simply give you a summary after. Emotions often come up with this work and you are encouraged to allow whatever you are feeling to show up.
At the end of the session, Star will check in again, possibly give you something to practice (some life-homework). If she deems it necessary, she will send you a write up of your session afterward.
A session typically lasts 45-60 minutes from start to finish.

Star is the first person to admit that when she first learned about energy work, particularly energy work that happens at a distance, she wanted to distance herself from that hooey. However, when an acute health issue arose and she couldn’t travel to see her energetic healing practitioner, she reluctantly received distance work. And she was astounded when she could feel the work happening in her body. In fact, it felt the same as when her practitioner with working on her in the same room.
Why this works falls under the auspices of quantum physics. Star is not a quantum physicist, but she knows CHEA works at a distance and trusts that. The logistics, so to speak are that she sets up her treatment table as if you were going to physically lie in front of her, and that is how she works on your energetic body—by having it be on the table while you are in session.

No. CHEA involves trained listening to the energy fields of the body, the organ systems, the chakras, and to the person—what do you need to tell your practitioner? What is your experience around the issue you want help with? You may not know until a session is in-progress—what needs to come up, will. What Star is deeply listening for are the places of tension, torsion, or dissonance within the field of the story; once these places are identified, the best way to invite alignment back is utilized.

Yes and no. Some of Star’s favorite CHEA sessions have been with infants. The process of being born often causes energetic distortions. When Star works on a baby, the moment she senses a field returning to its ideal state, the baby inevitably responds: a sigh, a twitch, a relaxing of muscle. Infants do not “believe” in energy work—they are simply responding to the changing energy fields around them. Star encourages you to seek support from whatever modality resonates with you.
Acupuncture is used successfully with animals and they don’t have any belief or non-belief happeningWe do know that all health interventions perform better when there is buy-in from the receiver. One of Star’s favorite articles that addresses patient perception is by renowned Harvard medical researcher and acupuncturist Ted Kaptchuk: The Placebo Phenomenon. You will get better results from whatever modality you choose if you have faith that modality can be effective at creating change.

This depends what you are wanting support with. You may find that life is improved with relatively regular sessions. Or you may get everything you need from Star out of one session. It is very individual and you can discuss treatment timing with Star.
One exception to this is for folks who are having toxic exposure such as chemotherapy—this makes regular sessions very helpful. -
As of January 2025, an energetic session costs $150; an acupuncture-only session costs $120. If cost is a barrier, please contact Star.
